My Story

“I wholeheartedly believe that you are the author of your story and the expert of your own body.”

I staunchly believe the stories we’ve lived and those we’ve internalized surrounding food, our bodies, and who we are as women are all intimately connected to our health behaviors; they inform not only what we eat, but also WHY we eat what we do.

I know this to be true because I’ve lived it.

I’ve experienced firsthand how painful stories can shape contentious relationships with food and our bodies, the all-consuming exhaustion of feeling unwell and having to confront disordered patterns every waking second of the day, the potential intergenerational impacts of distorted beliefs and behaviors if left unaddressed, and the shame of being minimized to a health statistic in the midst of it all.

I’ve experienced the fear. AND I’ve also experienced the freedom.

I’ve experienced the power in healing to change the food and body narrative in my mind and in my home. I’ve grown in advocating for myself as a whole woman—exactly as I am, in trusting my body’s wisdom to guide intuitive nutrition-related decisions, and in actively turning the page to write with intention the story of abundant health I want for my life and my family tree.

It is through these experiences that I found my calling as a registered dietitian and lactation consultant.

I’ve since had the privilege of walking alongside countless diverse women as they’ve written holistic healing and nourishment into their family’s story. And I’m here to help empower you to do the same. Whether or not you long for children to be a part of your story or if they already are, this journey begins with us—returning home to our body’s inherent wisdom. It’s never too late the turn the page and write anew.

As such, I find great value in a narrative approach to nutrition counseling that centers your individualized story. The heart of my work is to meet you where you are and to foster a safe space for you to dig deep. Together, we will explore the underlying stories that form the intricate root systems from which your food and body thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors grow. It is then that the process of unearthing the stories that no longer serve you or support your health can begin, new ideals can take root, body wisdom and sustainable changes can grow, and the healing power of food and herbs can truly be experienced.

I often describe the place I strive to practice from along this journey as the intersection of evidence-based and empathy. I wholeheartedly believe that you are the author of your story and the expert of your own body. As your registered dietitian, I will work with you to identify which evidence-based tools and strategies may be most supportive and empowering for you to apply to your life to achieve your individualized nutrition-related goals.

No matter where you’re at in your journey, I’m with you and for you. I hope to connect soon!

Outside of my clinical work, I’m my best self when I’m outdoors and in the mountains, particularly while hiking with my loved ones. Black coffee, dancing, and filling my home with an unreasonable number of houseplants are few more of my greatest joys in this life.
